Your teeth are what they eat! The foods you eat play a major part in your oral health. But how do you know what’s good for teeth and what’s not?
A good rule of thumb is to follow the USDA recommendation for a healthy diet. These guidelines are good for your teeth and can help you avoid many other health-related problems.
Here are some simple tips that will help your teeth and overall health:
  • Read food labels and know what you’re putting into your body
  • Limit snacking – every time you eat a food with sugar in it acid attacks your teeth for 20 minutes or more
  • Mealtime foods cause less harm because there is more saliva present. Saliva helps wash away sugars and lessen the effects of acids
  • Brush twice a day for 2 minutes each time
